Project Overview
APC Workwear sell bespoke workwear to a wide variety of organisations and business. The project involved migrating their ZenCart e-commerce system to Magento 1. The project was in disarray when I took over development and together we managed to turn the project around resulting in a stable, feature-rich e-commerce platform generating large volumes of revenue for the company.
Objectives
The key to any successful e-commerce operation is understanding the requirements of both the end user and the business operations and workflow. The project was in a dire state when I took over development and needed a steady hand to turn the development process around and get the project back on track.
What I did
Through several development iterations new features and functionality was implemented to enhance the product offering for both new and existing customers. The front-end of the website was developed to allow users to quickly access key categories on the website and provide a quick checkout process. PayPal, SagePay, and other offline payment solutions were integrated to provide a flexible e-commerce platform. Custom Magento modules were integrated to fill the gaps in the core Magento platform and provide APC workwear with a platform for growth.
Results
The e-commerce website is now generating good returns on investment with limited maintenance and continues to provide an adaptable solution over the past six years of operation.
